Isolated Network Manager, Ergon Energy As Isolated Network Manager with Ergon Energy, Dane leads a team transforming the energy supply across 39 diverse and remote communities throughout Queensland. Passionate about supporting a bright future for these regions, he believes clean, safe, and reliable energy is key to their long-term prosperity. Aligned with the Queensland Government’s Jobs and Energy Plan, Dane has driven the transition from reliance on diesel generation toward decarbonisation through renewable energy integration. Over the past five years, his team has achieved major milestones — including taking two far western Queensland communities to 80% instantaneous renewable energy in 2021 through an innovative solar monitoring and control system. In 2023, the team completed designs to take four additional communities to 50%+ renewable energy, including operating in diesel-off mode. Based in Townsville, Dane enjoys spending time with his two daughters, ice bathing, and mountain biking — where he proudly does his own stunts. |
